Steve Danielson liked Daniel Carter’s hymn well enough to orchestrate it for full symphonic orchestra and SSAATTBB voices. Premiered by the Ensign Orchestra and Choir in Washington state, the ethereal setting captures the feeling of being tutored by the Holy Spirit and the eventual eternal progression of being in the presence of God. Composed in the early 1990s, this hymn is one of Daniel Carter’s favorites for its unusual harmonic progression and contemplative words. Watch the video below to see and hear the whole score.
